Phil Rylance

Phil is originally from Warrington Lancashire (now relocated to Cheshire). He attended secondary technical school, a peculiar Northern experiment, the idea being to promote practical skills like technical drawing and metalwork ahead of more academic subjects. Despite that start, after A levels he left and completed a foundation year at Warrington Art School before moving on to the BA Graphic Design course in Liverpool.

He then moved to London where he began a successful career in advertising. He achieved the highest, honours possible for his creativity, worldwide. By bringing soon to be Oscar winning Nick Park to the wider world's attention, producing the much lauded Creature Comforts commercials. At one point being personally responsible for making Le Coq Sportif the biggest selling poster range at the Athena stores.

Ideas are his passion, and he has worked with some very good people (and some stinkers, you know who you are), at some of the world's best full service agencies. Both as an employee and as a consultant on individual projects. He is one of the very few art directors in the world to fully understand the creative potential of HDRI photography.

Lately he has been transferring the skills he has acquired into new mediums such as online and experiential marketing which has been very exciting. Experience has taught him that idea led content never seems to go out of fashion
